Not two months after it was rededicated following a $6.75 million renovation, a stairwell and balcony at Preston Gardens was damaged after a car crash Monday evening. The crash occurred at 7:10 p.m. and left a vehicle on its roof in the downtown park. Police said the car hit the balcony’s upper edge along St. Paul Place and fell to the park’s lower level that is located on St. Paul Street across from Mercy Medical Center.
