Maryland venture capital investment falls 70 percent in 2016

Venture capitalists invested $300 million in Maryland companies in 2016, a 70 percent drop from $1 billion the year before. In the fourth quarter, venture capitalists invested $38.25 million in Maryland companies, down 93 percent from the same quarter a year before but up 46 percent from the third quarter, according to a PwC/CB Insights MoneyTree Report released Wednesday.
