Feds reject grant applications for Port Covington, Howard Street Tunnel

Two federal grant applications for transportation projects in Maryland were rejected on Wednesday by the U.S. Department of Transportation. One involved a $76 million request for new highway ramps off of Interstate 95 and roadwork surrounding the massive Port Covington redevelopment by Under Armour CEO Kevin Plank’s Sagamore Development. The other application was for $155 million to help fund construction to help the flow of freight trains through the Howard Street Tunnel. Plans call for the tunnel…
