Officer Nero found not guilty in charges tied to death of Freddie Gray

Officer Edward Nero has been acquitted on all four charges tied to the arrest and death of 25-year-old Freddie Gray, according to multiple reports. The verdict was announced Monday morning by Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams, who decided his fate rather than a jury. Nero, 30, had plead not guilty on four misdemeanor charges. He was one of six officers involved in the April 12, 2015 arrest of Gray, who died a week sustaining severe injuries in police custody. Below is a statement released…
