Lexington Market overhaul prompts push for safety, crackdown on drug dealing

Shutting down crime and drug dealing outside Lexington Market will be a major focus in the coming year and a half as the landmark undergoes a $40 million redevelopment. So said a panel of top city leaders Wednesday evening during a hour-long public meeting at the historic market downtown that is poised to be remade into an airy, two-story, 61,000-square-foot facility.
