A top executive who led the expansion of Laureate Education Inc. in Latin America will leave the company next month. Ricardo Berckemeyer, president and chief operating officer has decided to leave Baltimore-based Laureate to “pursue other interests,” the company said in a federal filing Monday. Berckemeyer, who has worked at Laureate for the last 17 years, will step down on July 15. Laureate, a for-profit network of colleges and universities, will not fill Berckemeyer’s position.
