Emergency public alert system installed on Main Street in Ellicott City

A warning system against future threats of flooding in Ellicott City has been set up along historic Main Street. The system will feature a 120-decibel, siren noise in a loud blast to notify patrons and business owners of flash flood warnings from the National Weather Service, County Executive Calvin Ball said Thursday.
