Legislation creating a “tourism improvement district” in Baltimore is moving forward as the local hospitality industry continues to push for more funding to promote the city and its attractions. Council Bill 18-0293 will head to the full City Council later this month. Tourism and hotel representatives on Thursday told the council’s taxation, finance and economic development committee that the district is necessary to grow tourism in Baltimore and keep the city competitive with its neighbors.…
