Maryland unemployment rate drops in August as state adds jobs

Maryland gained 4,600 jobs in August, adding positions across several sectors and pushing down the unemployment rate. The leisure and hospitality industry grew by 2,400 jobs, all of which were in the accommodation and food services subsector, according to data released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
