Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. is facing an advertising attack on its own television stations. Allied Progress, a Washington, D.C.-based consumer advocacy watchdog group, spent “six figures” on ads airing on four Sinclair stations criticizing the company. Hunt Valley-based Sinclair didn’t just air the ads — the broadcaster sandwiched its own message defending itself around them.
