Lockheed nears another littoral combat ship delivery

Littoral Combat Ship 19, the future USS St. Louis built by a team led by Bethesda defense giant Lockheed Martin Corp. (NYSE: LMT), recently completed its acceptance trials on Lake Michigan and is expected to deliver to the Navy early next year. The vessel is a Freedom-variant LCS, constructed by Lockheed and shipbuilder Fincantieri Marinette Marine. The ships specialize in antisubmarine, surface and mine countermeasure missions.
