BGE turning to schools, nonprofits as it seeks more qualified trainees

Baltimore Gas and Electric Co. is trying to build a better pipeline of workers. The utility, which employs about 3,200 people, faces a large number of retirements from its workforce even as it eyes significant infrastructure changes that will require labor in the future. At the same time, it’s finding prospective employees in its core Baltimore area sometimes struggle to pass a key test that serves as a prerequisite for its entry-level utility trainees.
