Md. legislature closes bill hearings to public due to coronavirus

Due to the fast-spreading coronavirus, the Maryland General Assembly has decided to “end all public gatherings which are not related to the direct work of the functioning” of legislative committees and floor work in Annapolis, according to a Thursday announcement from Senate President Bill Ferguson and House Speaker Adrienne Jones.
