New data shows Md. was ramping up employment in Feb. before coronavirus hit

Maryland’s labor market added 3,900 jobs in February, showing the state’s economy remained solid before the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the U.S. a few weeks later. February was the seventh consecutive month of job growth for Maryland. The state’s unemployment rate remained at 3.3%, according to data released Friday by the U.S. Department of Labor.
