Hogan won't order local leaders to cancel events due to coronavirus

Gov. Larry Hogan does not plan to order cities and counties in Maryland to close events due to the coronavirus pandemic, instead leaving decisions up to local leaders. Maryland has nine confirmed cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. While none of the cases are in Baltimore, the city is planning to host its annual St. Patrick’s Day parade this weekend.
