Advocates, insurers 'hopeful' two passed bills will bolster Maryland ACA market

Two bills aimed at strengthening the state’s individual health insurance marketplace passed in the Maryland General Assembly and garnered praise from stakeholders. House Bill 814 was initially filed with the intent of encouraging — and ultimately requiring — Maryland’s remaining roughly 300,000 uninsured citizens to get health coverage.
