When one of John Fredericksen’s employees got smacked with a $43,000 air ambulance bill, the entire Wicomico County Public School System, where Fredericksen is superintendent, rallied for a fundraiser. The school system employees do their best to help each other, but a few hundred bucks, even a thousand dollars, isn’t going to make much of a dent in a $43,000 bill. “That’s enough to push a family into bankruptcy,” Fredericksen said.
