Year in Review 2016: Food halls, marketplaces provide room to grow for chefs, diners

For all the restaurants that opened in 2016 in the Greater Baltimore area, there were many other ideas that couldn’t get off the ground for one reason or another. One of the major factors is money. Opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and the costs don’t stop coming when the doors open. That’s where food halls and marketplaces like R. House come in. R.
