Towson youngster’s Mayflower diary captures hearts at DAR

Mirabel Paige Benavides was a Rodgers Forge Elementary School fifth-grader when she submitted an essay to the DAR’s American History Essay Contest — and it was declared the chapter winner on Aug. 29.
