Dr. Bert W. O'Malley Jr., a surgeon and inventor who previously held various leadership roles at University of Maryland Medical Center, has returned to the downtown Baltimore hospital to serve as its president and CEO. He was appointed to the position following a months-long national search, and will officially take over the CEO job come November.
