Initial standard claims in Maryland hit another low last week, dropping below 19,000 for the first time since the pandemic began. The 18,657 standard claims filed for the week ending July 11 is the lowest number of filings the state has seen since mid-March. It’s also a drop of 14,534 from the prior week’s revised number of 33,191, according to figures released Thursday by the U.S. Department of Labor.
