Baltimore public transit to receive $385M in federal COVID-19 stimulus money

Tucked into the whopping $2 trillion federal coronavirus relief stimulus package is a $385.5 million infusion from the U.S. government to help Baltimore’s suffering mass transit system. The money from will come from a nearly $25 billion pool allocated to the Federal Transit Administration from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, and go to the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA), operator of the city’s state-controlled metro subway, light rail and bus systems.
