Maryland named No. 2 least tax-friendly state

Maryland has long been known for its high business taxes, a perception the state and Gov. Larry Hogan has strived to change, going as far as making the state’s official greeting “We’re Open for Business.” Yet in a new annual ranking, the state was named the second least tax-friendly state in the country largely for its high income taxes.
