A $15 million redevelopment is underway to add 53 market-rate homes to Middle East near Johns Hopkins Hospital. The Henderson Crossing project kicked off with a groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday in the 800 block of Maderia Street, a tiny “alley street” in East Baltimore that for years has been pockmarked with several abandoned and blighted rowhouses.
