The city’s quest for new grocery stores is getting one step closer to reality — and it is a national model. DMG Foods is set to open next week at 400 E. 29th St. in Waverly as the first nonprofit market owned by the Salvation Army. Southeast Baltimore will be getting a new brewery next winter. Mobtown Brewing Co. has plans to open in late 2018 or early 2019. The brewery is close to signing a lease on space in the Canton/Highlandtown/Fells Point/Brewers Hill area, head brewer Dave Carpenter said. Under Armour announced Wednesday that Chief Revenue Officer Karl-Heinz (Charlie) Maurath will retire at the end of March. Maurath has been with the Baltimore sportswear maker since 2012, first as the company’s president, international and then as chief revenue officer beginning in Nov. 2015. Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc. saw its profit soar more than 266 percent in the fourth quarter last year and said Wednesday it expects to close the planned acquisition of Tribune Media Co. in the second quarter.
