Baltimore County Restaurant Week looking for another record summer

Baltimore County Restaurant Week is coming off a record promotion last summer and hopes for to repeat this year when it returns in August. The Baltimore County Office of Tourism and the Baltimore County Chamber of Commerce announced the 14th bi-annual promotional event Wednesday that will kick off Aug. 4 and run through Aug. 19. Marriott is expected to double in size, and soon, on the other side of the planet

Bethesda-based Marriott International Inc.’s (NASDAQ: MAR) Asia Pacific operation is expected to nearly double in the next four years, the company announced Tuesday. In a release, the world’s largest hotel chain said it is “on track for a breakthrough year” in Asia Pacific with nearly 80 hotels totaling 19,000 new rooms “targeted” to open in 2017 alone, including Moxy Tokyo and Delta Hotels by Marriott Shanghai Baoshan, two brands new to the region. Arc Baltimore promotes new executive director from within

The Arc Baltimore has promoted Kathleen McNally Durkin as its new executive director. The outgoing head of the nonprofit, Stephen H. Morgan, will retire on June 30 after 32 years. Durkin has been with the Arc Baltimore since 2001 and has served as the deputy executive director since 2010. Southwest Airlines testing two-door exit strategy

Southwest Airlines passengers may have a faster, easier exit from flights in the future, thanks to a dual-door deplaning process the company is testing in California airports.
