Baltimore area jobs grew 13 percent over the last eight years as retail struggled

Greater Baltimore has seen a 13 percent increase in the number of private-sector jobs between 2009 and 2017. There were 1.18 millions jobs in the Baltimore-Columbia-Towson metro area in 2017, up from 1.04 million in 2009, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
