Even as new hotel properties continue to crop up across Baltimore, the average occupancy rate for the first six months of 2018 was down, according to the latest industry data. The occupancy rate for hotels in the Baltimore market was 66.4 percent on average for January through June, down 2.1 percent over the same period last year, per data and analytics specialist STR, which compiles monthly reports. That’s a steeper decline than the first six months of 2017, which saw a -0.2 percent change.…
