Maryland gains 10,700 jobs in October, unemployment rate falls

Maryland added 10,700 jobs in October and unemployment fell as industries across the board saw gains. The state’s unemployment rate dropped slightly from 4.2 percent to 4.1 percent. However, it remains higher than the U.S. national average of 3.7 percent. Professional and business services led the way with an increase of 2,300 jobs, according to data released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
