Baltimore City Health Department falls short of food service inspections, audit finds

A recent audit of Baltimore City’s Health Department found that a significant understaffing problem has kept the agency from meeting its goal for inspections of food service facilities in 2016 and 2017. During those two years, the department had 13 food control inspectors for the 5,000 food service facilities in the city licensed and regulated by the department.
