Dorothy Simon, a homemaker turned therapist and mother of former Sun reporter and ‘The Wire’ creator David Simon, dies

Dorothy Simon, who raised three children – including former Sun reporter and “The Wire” creator David Simon – before earning a bachelor’s degree in general studies from the University of Maryland and becoming a crisis counselor and therapist, has died at 97.
