Johns Hopkins says it will make largest solar energy pledge in Maryland

Johns Hopkins University plans to power its campuses with more than 250,000 megawatt hours of solar energy annually, a move the school says is one of the largest pledges to reduce greenhouse gas reductions in higher education. Under the 15-year deal, Baltimore-based Constellation will buy energy and renewable energy certificates from a 175 megawatt solar plant being developed in Virginia and then sell them to Hopkins.
