Moody's downgrades Gaithersburg-based Adventist HealthCare

Credit rating agency Moody’s Investors Service downgraded Adventist HealthCare Inc. this week, pointing to the $270 million in debt the Gaithersburg-based health system is taking on to pay for its relocation of Washington Adventist Hospital to White Oak. Adventist, the nonprofit that runs Washington Adventist and Shady Grove Adventist Hospitals, saw its bond credit rating drop to Baa3 from Baa2.
