Johns Hopkins to receive $4.8M over five years for crystal growth lab

Johns Hopkins University will receive $4.8 million to build a crystal growth lab as part of a national research initiative to advance how crystal technology is used in medicine, industry and consumer products. Under the five-year, $25 million project funded by the National Science Foundation, Hopkins will work with Cornell, Princeton and Clark Atlanta universities to learn more about new materials that can be turned into crystals and how to speed the growth process.
