February jobs picture a 'mixed report' for Maryland

Maryland’s unemployment situation got better or worse in February, depending on who you ask. The state lost 1,800 jobs between January and February, according to data released Friday by the U.S. Department of Labor. But the month-to-month drop, fueled by a large decline in professional and business services jobs, belied longer-term trends. Compared with February of last year, the state has gained 37,600 jobs.
