But today marks the one-year anniversary of the day a gunman entered the Annapolis Capital’s newsroom and killed five people — Gerald Fischman, John McNamara, Rob Hiaasen, Rebecca Smith and Wendi Winters. A series of events, including a global moment of silence at 2:33 p.m. today, will recognize their lives and contribution to journalism.
