How I took my granola business from the farmers market to Whole Foods shelves

Before Michele’s Granola became a fixture on grocery store shelves, founder Michele Tsucalas was baking batches for family and friends. “It became the thing that I was known for making,” Tsucalas said. Eventually, a friend suggested she try to transform her hobby into a business. She reached out to a local farmers market with visions of selling granola from a card-table stall on the weekends accompanied by a musician friend strumming a guitar.
