Booze with a side of vegetables: Sandlot unveils urban farm plans at Harbor Point

An urban farm capable of producing 50,000 heads of lettuce a year — as well as tomatoes, peppers and other produce — will break ground this month at Sandlot, Beatty Development officials said Tuesday. The beachfront bar in Harbor Point will host two hoop houses and a hydroponic greens-growing unit when it opens for the summer May 5. And bar patrons will be able to partake in the harvest: plans include a retail stand at Sandlot where customers can buy vegetables while they’re sipping on cocktails…
