With demand at an all-time high, YouthWorks needs more businesses to get involved

Demand is higher than ever for Baltimore’s summer youth work program, but more jobs are needed. More than 16,000 teenagers have applied for a job through the YouthWorks program, said Jason Perkins-Cohen, director of the Mayor’s Office of Employment Development. That’s a new high for the program and up from 12,000 applicants last year. To date, the YouthWorks program, which doesn’t start until June, has 5,500 jobs available.
