Postal Service's South Baltimore location fined over exposing employees to hazardous bodily fluids

The U.S. Postal Service’s South Baltimore sorting facility is being fined $342,059 by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration after employees at the facility were exposed to biomedical hazards in packages. OSHA inspectors found that workers at the the South Carrier Annex at 1500 Cherry Hill Road in Brooklyn were exposed to bloodborne pathogen hazards in blood or other bodily fluids while handling packages that were labeled as having biological infectious materials.…
