UMd. to break ground on six-story computer science center named for Oculus VR founder

University of Maryland, College Park will break ground Saturday on a new computer science building made possible by a $31 million donation from a student-turned-technology entrepreneur. The Brendan Iribe Center for Computer Science and Innovation, a 215,600-square-foot, six-floor building to be located at the corner of Baltimore Avenue and Campus Drive, is expected to open in 2018.
