Catherine Pugh wins primary, poised to become next mayor of Baltimore

Catherine Pugh won Tuesday’s mayoral primary, positioning her to take over the top spot at City Hall. Pugh, a favorite in recent polls, defeated 12 other Democratic candidates. The victory essentially paves the way for a general election victory for Pugh in a Democratic-heavy Baltimore City. Pugh, who also ran in 2011, edged out former Mayor Sheila Dixon.
