Long lines, warm weather mark Maryland's primary election day

A surge of voters overtook the polling place at Hampstead Hill Academy in East Baltimore on Tuesday, with residents waiting at least a half hour to cast their ballots. Over at City Springs Elementary/Middle nearby on East Lombard Street, the scene was a little quieter. Campaign workers handing out fliers there said there were more people driving by than actually stopping to vote. That didn’t worry Mandy Davis, who was out campaigning for Carl Stokes, a City Councilman running for mayor outside.…
