Long lines, warm weather mark Maryland's primary election day

A surge of voters overtook the polling place at Hampstead Hill Academy in East Baltimore on Tuesday, with residents waiting at least a half hour to cast their ballots. Over at City Springs Elementary/Middle nearby on East Lombard Street, the scene was a little quieter. Campaign workers handing out fliers there said there were more people driving by than actually stopping to vote.
