Macy’s appears to be closing its Columbia and Annapolis stores this week, laying off nearly 240 workers and creating more big box vacancies in the local mall market. The giant retailer late Friday filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) with the state that showed it was laying off 103 workers at the Westfield Annapolis mall and 131 workers at The Mall in Columbia effective June 30.
