Shoppers plans to close 18 stores in Baltimore area

All Shoppers Food & Pharmacy markets in the Baltimore metro area are likely to close this year as parent company United Natural Foods Inc. exits the retail business. The popular discount grocery chain has 36 stores in the Baltimore and Washington, D.C., area — and 18 in greater Baltimore including Locust Point, Mondawmin Mall, Dundalk, Catonsville and Brooklyn Park.
