Breast cancer awareness organization Susan G. Komen is investing nearly $26 million to fund 62 new research projects, including two in Maryland, around understanding and battling breast cancer. The funding is part of the Dallas-based organization’s efforts to reduce the number of breast cancer deaths in the U.S. by 50 percent by 2026.
