Sinclair Broadcast earnings rise despite less political revenue than expected

Sinclair Broadcast Group Inc.’s profit rose 17 percent in the third quarter despite bringing in less political advertising revenue than initially expected. The Hunt Valley broadcaster reported net income of $50.8 million in the third quarter, or 54 cents per share, up from $43.3 million, or 45 cents per share, in the prior-year period.
