Baltimore Museum of Art names new director

Christopher Bedford, currently director of the Rose Art Museum at Brandeis University outside of Boston, will take over as head of the Baltimore Museum of Art on Aug. 15. Bedford replaces Doreen Bolger, who retired as director last year after 17 years in the position. Bedford was selected following an international search overseen by a committee created by the museum’s board of trustees. He will become the 10th director in the BMA’s 102-year history.
